My name is Rashidat aka ’Ashidondo – storyteller, bilingual voice actor, podcast host and – oh yeah – founder of HER Gist. They told me I needed a website to contain all my stories and ijangbon, so here we are.
For the past 15 years, I’ve had the joy of working as a multilingual voice actor, lending my voice to hit animated series (hello, Cartoon Network & HBOMax!), children’s books, PSAs and global ad campaigns. Born in the U.S. and raised in Nigeria, I carry both worlds in my voice, my humor, and my heart. Whether English, Yorùbá, Ondó, or Pidgin, my voice doesn’t just “speak”; it connects.

Beyond the studio, I’m also a public speaker and event host. I’ve emceed and spoken at women-centric seminars, book launches, and media events, creating safe and engaging spaces where women can laugh and connect through shared stories and experiences.
Now you see HER Gist? This is where I let it all hang out, because HER Gist is me , and I am HER Gist. Over the years it has grown to become my midlife safe space, where laughter meets learning and women, especially my fellow Nigerians in the diaspora, can laugh, reflect and share. Through playful skits, sharp wit-filled commentary, and heartfelt storytelling, I create content that’s equal parts hilarious and thought-provoking. Hence the slogan: “Making you laugh seriously.” I also host a podcast where I get to dive into everyday life, mixing conversations, reflections and cultural gist meant to inspire and of course, make you laugh.
When it’s all said and done though, whether I’m voicing an animated hero, narrating an audiobook, engaged in public speaking, emceeing an event, or serving gist on Instagram and YouTube; I’m just a storyteller with a simple mission: to share stories that hug, tickle, and make people feel seen and connected.
